Default Some newbie questions - please help!

Hi all, just got the game, been exploring around (up to level 3 right now ^_^) and reading up the FAQ. However, I still have some questions which I hope you all can answer...

1. Are there any sites with maps of some sort? The ones I can find right now are pretty sketchy - I was looking for more detailed stuff.

2. Any starting guide for newbies in general and Warriors in particular? I already messed up a bit by committing to W/E without doing all the secondary profession quests...would like to have a guideline to read (though not necessarily follow since I believe experimentation and exploring is of paramount importance)

3. Even after reading the post I really really do not understand this whole district thing...what I get so far is that I have an American version of the game and I can somehow log into International Districts where I can meet others from different regions. Are Districts PvP only? How does one get into them?

I'm confused about this whole thing, basically.

4. If Adrenaline is added at the rate of one per weapon hit, then wouldn't weapons with fast hit rates be the natural weapons of choice for Warriors? Also, how does one determine attacking speed? (the weapon doesn't show it)

There's actually an entire section of this site devoted to guides and tutorials. It's under Site Home at the top. The forums are only one part of the site.

When you go ingame and are in a town or staging area, there is a dropdown menu at the upper left of the screen which let's you move between Districts. Each town or staging area will auto-place you into a District based on your localization and how many players are in a given District. One can also manually choose to go to a specific District upon entering a town or staging area instead. In chat, you may be speaking with someone in anothe District.

I recommend brewing a cup of coffee or tea, and reading through the articles here...

Guild Wars Guru Guides

Just feel that I should add that all of these links were found using the search function and visiting the Site Home area in about ten minutes. So all I ask is that after you're done reading, if you come across another person someday with newbie questions that are easily found, be nice and point them in the right direction.

Thanks for all your help, but I feel I should clarify that I have actually read most of the stuff you recommended...upon which I still had some questions, hence the post. ^_^ The maps and district explanation do help clear up some stuff though.

As for your adrenaline questions, the different weapons have different skills tied to them- the rate that you build up adrenaline with the weapons is factored into how powerful the skills are, generally. Swords/Axes have some powerful attacks that require high adrenaline, while hammer attacks often take lots of adrenaline, which builds up slower with the slow attack speed, but have extremely powerful effects. The different weapon lines are pretty well balanced- you won't find one that is better than the others. In general, Swords will give you high damage output, Axes give good damage output plus more conditions and some extra interrupts, and hammers give high damage plus knockdown, which works good for disruption. Hammers probably do a bit less overall damage, but it comes in bigger spikes, and the knockdown skills are very powerful, as they can interrupt, and keep the target from attacking, casting, or moving for a few seconds.
